The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world at an overwhelming speed with disruption to the society including businesses and the SICOM Group is no exception. We however wish to reassure all our stakeholders that despite the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the global and local economic landscape, the resilient, strong and stable financial foundation on which it has been built, will enable the SICOM Group to continue to safeguard the interests of all its customers and make possible value creation for its other stakeholders in these unprecedented times.
Today, we are proud to say that we have been able to live up to the challenges brought by the pandemic which necessitated a drastic change in our work procedures. To maintain a good client service level during the confinement, we leveraged on digital technologies and remote working to service our customers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless business continuity. In fact, different channels, which included our Website, Facebook page, LinkedIn page, Press and Radio, were used to communicate with our customers and other stakeholders. In addition, our customers and pensioners were provided with dedicated phone numbers for our different lines of business and they were also encouraged to make use of our client portal to facilitate the issue of their policies and the servicing of their existing business.
We would like to thank our stakeholders for their understanding during these difficult times and our staff for their unflinching support, dedication and resourcefulness in attending to business and operational needs.
We undertook a soft reopening of the offices of the SICOM Group on Monday 11 May 2020 and the resumption of duties of our staff is being done in a phased manner in line with the protocol defined by the Government. The Health and Safety of our staff as well as our customers being our priority, every precautionary action has been taken to protect each and every one while ensuring the continuity of our business, including social distancing and strict sanitary measures.
As of the lifting of the lockdown on 30 May 2020, we will be pleased to welcome our customers again, on 01 June 2020, at our Head Office at Port Louis, our Customer Shops at Ebène, Trianon, our new Customer Shop at Rose Belle as well as at our PostAssurance Hubs in the Post Offices of Curepipe, Flacq, Quatre Bornes and Grand Bay, during normal opening hours. During this challenging time, rest assured that we remain committed to providing you with the best possible service.
