Features

Under SICOM DriveSmart Insurance, you will benefit from the following features & coverage:

Personal Accident Cover

  • Rs 1M for policyholder / Rs 500, 000 for other car occupants subject to Rs3M in aggregate

 

New Car Replacement

  • Applies for vehicle up to 1 year
  • Indemnity payable is 110% of sum insured

 

Waiver of excess

  • Applicable for first claim during first year of cover
  • Applies for subsequent yearly renewals where insured is not at fault and claim is recoverable in full from 3rd party Insurer

 

Loss of Use

  • Up to 15 days per accident limited to 45 days per year

 

Loss of Use for engine breakdown

  • Maximum of 5 days in 1 year

 

Loss of Car Keys and Lock Replacement

  • Replacement of car keys and lock transmitter in the event of loss by theft or burglary up a limit of Rs 10,000 for one period of insurance
  • Shall not apply in case vehicle is damaged at the same time

 

Loss or Damage to Personal Belongings

  • Personal Belongings carried in or on the vehicle are covered up to a limit of Rs 7,500

 

Damage by rodents

  • Loss or damage caused by rodent(s) to the Motor Vehicle(s) up to a limit of Rs 10,000 any one event/ any one period of insurance

  • Individuals owning private cars up to 4 years
  • Required Documents

  • Completed, signed and dated Proposal Form
  • National Identity Card
  • Driving Licence
  • Proof of employment
  • Car Registration Book (Horsepower)
  • Recent Utility Bill (not more than 3 months old)
  • Claim History Certificate (If applicable)
  • Tips - Protecting your drive

  • Don’t leave your keys in the car, even if you only intend to be away from your car for a few minutes
  • When leaving your vehicle, remember to close all windows and lock all doors
  • Keep valuables in the boot of your car or hide them away out of sight under a seat or in the glove box
  • If you have a removable car stereo, remember to take it with you. Thieves breaking into your car may only be after your stereo. If you have a removable car stereo, remember to take it with you when you leave your car and record its serial number
  • Ensure you and your passengers have your seat belt on before starting your journey
  • Be alert and pay attention to what is happening around you. Don’t get absorbed in activities that prevent you from being alert, such as texting, talking, eating, drinking and even changing radio stations
  • If you need to use your cell phone, or send or read a text, safely pull off the road first
  • Watch your following distance & Always drive within speed limits
  • Don’t drink and drive
  • If you feel tired and drowsy, get someone else to drive. If you are alone, just take sometime and rest and get back on the road when you feel you are fit to drive
